Referral for Services

Parents and/or teachers may refer a student for an evaluation to determine the need for special education services.

The district has a referral process in place to identify students as eligible for special education services.

To be eligible for special education, a student must:

  • Have an identified disability (meets state eligibility criteria)
  • Require specialized instruction to benefit from his or her education

Referral forms may be obtained from the special education teachers at each school.

“The human spirit does not dwell in isolation, nor is it limited by the boundaries of the body.  It’s worth is not measured by how much information it stores, how much money it makes or how famous it is.  Rather, It’s value lies in what we can become if we allow it to touch our lives.”
