What are the College Entrance Exams?

PSAT/NMSQT for 10th Grade

The PSAT/NMSQT is a comprehensive assessment that provides educators, students, and families an array of data and resources. It is a tool for students and teachers that can help foster a strong college and career ready culture.


SAT for 11th Grade

On the New SAT, students are assessed on reading and writing (combined) and mathematics. An optional essay section that Idaho has chosen to include for the Statewide School Day Administration is scored and reported separately.

Who takes the College Entrance Exams?

The College Entrance Examination requirement is effective for all public school students in their 11th grade year (IDAPA All Idaho public school eleventh graders must take one of the following college entrance or placement exams:

A student may elect an exemption in 11th grade from the requirement if the student is:

* Enrolled in a special education program and has and Individual Education Plan (IEP) that specifies accommodations not allowed for a reportable score on the approved tests

* Enrolled in a Limited English Proficient (LEP) program for three academic years or less

* A transfer student from out-of-state during their 12th grade year, after the state funded fall senior make-up opportunity


When do Students take the PSAT/NMSQT?

The 2016 PSAT/NMSQT testing date is October 19, 2016.

When do Students take the SAT?    

2017 SAT School Day Administration: April 11, 2017
