Welcome to the Kuna School District Technology Department. With our rapidly growing district and ever-changing technology needs, this constant state of flux can be daunting--ISIMS, fiber optic networks, 3.2 GHz PC's--but also exciting; never before has technology offered educational institutions so many excellent options! It is our goal here to provide you with the latest technology news happening at the KSD. This way, as informed professionals, concerned parents, or curious students, you'll be equipped to take advantage of these up-and-coming services.
However, no amount of information can meet your needs, if it's not the information you need. This is why we're coming to you. Our Feedback Form provides a means for you to directly pass information back to us. Whether you can't find the information you're looking for, or have heard of something you think we should know about, the Feedback Form is the best means for communicating that information.
Of course you can still Contact Us directly via email or, for trouble ticket items, through the Help Desk website.
You can also find helpful classroom websites, and up to date information by following us on Facebook. Don't have a Facebook account? No problem, you can still access and review suggested websites without logging in. |
Nevertheless, we hope the information you find here provides you with peace-of-mind, leaving you the time to focus on meeting students needs, and not on the tools that help make it happen.
As we continue to install projectors in all of our classrooms, we are beginning to see a gateway to new software and hardware now opento us. It can be very tempting to purchase the cool new tool everyone is talking about to help your students experience an interactive and engaging learning environment.

In collaboration with Kuna High School, the Technology Department would like to welcome its first MOUSE Squad, the KHS Kaverats. MOUSE Squad is a student technician training program with 16 KHS students participating.

Student technicians are currently being trained on the new interactive SMART projectors, and will be able to assist teachers with basic hardware problems, as well as with some of the software features. They will also complete a ten module certification course provided by MOUSE Squad headquarters, training them in basic help desk issues and customer service.
We currently house three student technicians in the high school tech office. These students are able to document issues and submit them to technicians for help. They also perform regular maintenance in the four computer labs at the high school.
Phase two will include K-1 classrooms, along with special education and P.E. This installation will include combinations of projectors/SMART boards (P.E. to receive projectors only), along with classroom sound systems and teacher mics.
KHS and KMS were among the first schools to receive new technology, and are fully equipped in all classrooms.

Elementary installations are taking place in two phases. Phase one will cover 2nd-6th grade and music classrooms, along with some libraries. Each of these rooms will receive a new interactive SMART projector, along withclassroom sound systems andteachermicrophones.
Crimson Point, Reed, Hubbard/Teed, and Indian Creek are all completed with phase one installations. We are currently in the middle of phase one at Ross elementary. Visit the Projector Project Timeline presentation for all of the up to date news on what’s done and who’s next.
