Which school will my child attend?

Enter your address in our SchoolSite Locator. If your home was recently built, it may not appear in the online site, please call the Kuna School District administrative office at 1.208.922.1000 weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the receptionist will help you.

How do I enroll my child?

It’s easy!

First, sign up online. If you need a computer, you’re welcome to use one at the district office or a school.

Finish the process by taking these documents to your child’s school:

  • Your child's original birth certificate (the office will make a copy to put in their file)
  • Immunization records with proof of required Idaho immunizations
  • Proof of address (phone bill, utility bill or signed rental agreement)
  • Previous school transcript or most recent report card (if any)
  • If needed, custody legal documents

May our family choose another school?

Families may apply to have their child attend a school outside of their attendance area in a process called Open Enrollment

Do Kuna schools offer busing?

Free busing is available for families who live 1.5 miles from their assigned school. We also provide bus service from elementary schools to some day cares and preschools. Bus routes are posted online. Need help? Call the transportation team at 1. 208.922.1013.

When does the school day start and end?

The times are the same for Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays are an early release to allow teachers to meet without students present to review results and plan instruction.

Elementary schools start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m., early release days, school ends at 2:30.

Secondary schools generally start and end an hour earlier than the elementary schools. Please check with the school for details.

Do Kuna schools offer breakfast and lunch and how much does it cost?

Yes.

Breakfast is free at all school sites.

Lunch is $3 at secondary schools and $2.50 at elementary schools. Famiies may apply online for free or reduced price lunches.

What afterschool and community sports programs are available for elementary students?

The district partners with the Kuna Boys and Girls Club to offer services at Ross Elementary School for children in 1st through 6th grades. The Club also offers an early riser program.
