The Kuna Jt. School District #3 is soliciting applications from interested patrons to fill the vacancy in Zone 4 created with the resignation of Trustee Michael Law and to serve his remaining term which expires July 1, 2017. Application Form

 

Applications are due to the District Office no later than August 31, 2016.

Upon receiving a completed application, Superintendent Wendy Johnson will contact the applicant to arrange a time to meet to review the responsibilities in detail. The board will interview to select a candidate during a special session beginning at 5:30 pm on September 8, 2016.

 

 

The Kuna School District Board is responsible for establishing the educational vision, establishing the policies that support the vision, employing administrative officers to lead the school system, and accounting for funds to support the school system. The Kuna School District serves approximately 5,400 students and provides vital educational services to the community.

The board is seeking candidates who have the ability and time to fulfill the responsibilities of being a member of the board, which include:


● Participate fully in the work of the board, which includes attending all board meetings and key events, studying and discussing policy issues, and participating in trustee education programs.
● Be knowledgeable about the community and be willing to act on behalf and for the benefit of the community.
● Be committed to Kuna School District and its mission.
● Understand educational, social, and economic policy issues.
● Engage in balancing the needs of many diverse groups and be able to contribute to and build consensus.
● Contribute to effective board functioning and support the authority of the board as a whole.
● Meet the legal qualifications for members of the board and be a resident of Trustee Zone 4.

 

The Board of Trustees meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Kuna Jt. School District Office located at 711 E. Porter Street.
