If you would like to meet with your student's Counselor please make an appointment. This can be done by calling the Counselor directly or leave a message stating you would like an appointment and the Counselor will get back to you. While we would like to be able to accommodate drop ins we would be better able to serve you with appointments. Thank you.

- Free help to prepare for the ACT or SAT at www.march2success.com
- Six week instructor facilitated online course to prepare for the ACT or SAT. The cost is $99 and sign up at www.ed2go.com
- ACT and SAT prep. classes taught by Kathy LaCerta, career counselor at Borah High School. Cost is $175 and classes are offered during the evening. Call 939-5262 for more information or pick up a brochure in the counselors office.
- ACT prep. classes taught at Kuna High School for the February test. Cost is $50. See flyer in counseling office

PASS Information
PASS is up and running. ALL STUDENTS RECEIVED NEW PASSWORDS THIS YEAR. You can receive your student's ID number and PIN by coming to the KHS Counseling Office or have your student stop in. This information CANNOT be given to you over the phone, through email, or mailed.

Evening School
If your student has failed a class at KHS they are not allowed to retake the class at KHS. Options are through on-line courses, night school, or summer school. Below are the links to the local night schools:

Scholarships
US Bank is giving 30 $1,000 scholarships awarded in random drawings. No essay is required, and no minimum GPA. Apply online at usbank.com/studentbanking
- DL Evans is offering 40 $250. scholarships. Due date for the application is March 13, 2009. Complete the application (in the counselor’s office), attach high school transcript (at least a 2.0 GPA), and a statement expressing why you should be considered as a candidate for the D.L. Evans Bank Scholarship. Preference will be given to students majoring in finance, business, or economics but all majors will be considered.
- Caldwell Night Rodeo is giving (5) $1500 scholarships this year to students who have shown a farm, agriculture, or rodeo interest. Minimum GPA is 3.0. Applications are available in the counseling office and the deadline is March 31, 2009.
- 6.Students interested in a two year diesel technical program can apply for the AEMP foundation scholarship (up to $2,000). To apply www.aemp.org/scholarship.htm. by May 1.
- Students interested in a career in construction and want to enroll in a course of study in the construction industry can apply for a scholarship from The Construction Education Foundation of Idaho. Scholarships are between $500 and $5,000 and can renewed each year. Applications are in the counseling office and the deadline is June 1.
- The Valli A. Kirk Foundation is providing scholarships for students that wish to become nurses. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA. Applications are in the counseling office and the deadline is April 1.
- Ada County Sheriff Employees’ Association Scholarship will award ten $1,500 scholarships. You must have at least a 2.5 GPA. Applications are in the counseling office. The deadline is March 31.
- SEMI Foundation is offering three $2,000 scholarships to high school seniors. Please visit http://www.semi.org/pnwscholarship for complete details. Deadline is March 15.
- American Legion Auxiliary is awarding one scholarship for $1,000. Applicant must be a veteran, veteran’s child or grandchild. Applications are available in the counseling office. The deadline is May 15.
- Westmark Credit Union is offering ten $500. Scholarships. Applicant must be a member of the Westmark Credit Union and have a GPA of at least 3.5. Applications are available in the counseling office. Deadline is March 18.

- The P. Anderson Scholarship will award a senior from Kuna High School $250. The student must enroll in a criminal justice or law field. The scholarship can be used at any 2 year, 4 year, or tech school. The student must have at least a 3.0 GPA. The application is available in the career center and is due May 1.
- Nyssa-Nampa Beet Growers are offering two $500. scholarships for high school seniors attending college in the fall. Must be a member of dependant of Snake River Company LLC Cooperative. Application is due April 12 and can be requested at nburbank@fortboise.com
- The Idaho Community Foundation has many scholarship opportunities for seniors. Pick up the common scholarship application in the career center. Applications have to be postmarked by April 1. ONE OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS IS FOR A KUNA HIGH STUDENT ONLY PLANNING TO ATTEND AN IDAHO SCHOOL
- AES will award a $500 scholarship. To apply go to http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.php to determine the essay question. Essay are to be no more than 1,000 words and is due by Oct. 8, 2010
- Idaho Agri-Women is offering two $500 scholarships to a senior boy or girl interested in pursuing a career in agriculture and/or supporting industry. Due date is April 1, 2010 and applications are available in the career center.
Scholarships from Colleges
- Presidential Scholarship from Montana State University-GPA of 3.75 and ACT score of 30 to apply. See college file if interested for application
- Presidential Diversity Scholarship from St. Lawrence University-$80,000 scholarship is awarded to students of African American, Asian American, Hispanic American, or Native American heritage. See Mrs. Purin if you are interested in applying for this University.
- Brigham Young University if announcing the George Hansen Fellowship in Geology. Please see Mrs. Purin if you are interested.
- University of Idaho guarantees a minimum of $1,500. per year for four years if you have at least a 3.5 GPA. and 25 ACT. See scholarship box for more scholarship opportunities.
- Any student interested in Agriculture or Life Science at the University of Idaho please see Mr. Dygert in the Ag. Dept.
