7th grade Elective choice:

 

• Spanish A:  This course is an introduction to the Spanish Language with an emphasis on basic conversation and a mastery of vocabulary and grammar necessary for communication in everyday situations.  Students will produce language through group and class activities, writing activities, and conversation.

 

8th grade Elective choices:

 

• Spanish B:  Prerequisite:  Grade of “C” or better in Spanish A or an override signed by the Spanish Teacher and parents.  This course is a continuation of Spanish A.  Completion of Spanish A and Spanish B is the equivalent of Spanish 1 at the high school.  Having a year and a half to complete 1 year worth of curriculum gives a unique opportunity for in depth experimentation and learning of material. The focus of this class in on a mastery of vocabulary and grammar with an emphasis on communication.  Students will produce language through group and class activities, writing assignments, class presentations and conversation.

 

• Spanish 1:  Prerequisite:  NONE.  This course is an introduction to the Spanish language, with an emphasis on basic conversation and a mastery of vocabulary and grammar necessary for communication in everyday situations.  Students will participate in group and class activities, writing assignments, class presentations and conversation.  Completion of Spanish 1 is the equivalent of Spanish 1 at the high school.
