Ross Elementary School recognizes the uniqueness of each child.
Differing learning styles require information to be presented in a variety of approaches.
It is the focus of Ross Elementary to build a strong academic, social, emotional and behavioral foundation that will provide the basis from which all of our students can extend their learning and become better prepared to open broader doors of opportunity as they move into the secondary school system.
Ross Elementary is designed to provide a safe, caring, nurturing environment in which all children are taught to read, compute, write, create and problem solve. Research based curriculum and explicit instructional strategies used by highly qualified teachers provide children the skills and content needed to meet each grade level's academic standards.
All aspects of each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs are addressed. The Kuna School District curriculum, kindergarten through grade three, focuses primarily on literacy and numeracy with social studies, science, and content skills integration. Curriculum for grades four through 6 continues the focus of literacy and numeracy, but uses the skills acquired there to enhance the depth of understanding in history and science.
The whole child's needs are enriched through physical education, music, technology and extra curricular sports at the school site or through partnerships with the community. Self-concept, responsibility, and self control are also taught and promoted in all aspects of the school day. Opportunities are provided for interaction in social groupings both within and outside the classroom.
I look forward to working with each of the families who are part of the Ross Elementary community. If you have any questions or would like to speak with me for any reason, please contact me at the Ross office: 922-1011.
