This page tells my professional background and a little bit about my personal life. Probably much more than anyone wants to know!

Professional credentials: I received my Associate of Arts Degree from College of Southern Idaho in l983. In 1986, I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a K-12 Reading Certificate from Idaho State University. In l993, I received my Master of Arts degree in Reading from Boise State University. I passed the technology test several years ago and completed the Idaho Comprehensive Literacy courses mandated by the state. I continue to take classes to remain current and incorporate new ideas in my classroom.

Teaching experience: I taught third grade at Hubbard Elementary for four years. In l990, I began teaching reading at Kuna Junior High. Eventually, reading and English were combined to create a two period block called language arts. We changed the name of our school to Kuna Middle School in 2001. This is my twenty-third year of teaching.

Personal information:My children are Heather who is married to Chris, and Ryan who is married to Alesha. Ryan and Alesha have given me a grandchild named Mindy Marie. She is the apple of her "Magra's" eye. Spoiling her is lots of fun. Even though I am divorced I still consider my stepkids mine. My stepdaughter graduated from the University of Redlands and lives in New Hampshire with her husband. I consider her a gift to me and a daughter of my heart. My stepson Chaz goes to San Diego State University and the twins Joel and Jon live in San Diego also. My mom and dad (Homer and Pat Smith) moved to Meridian a couple of years ago after living in Kuna since 1971.  My sisters (Lori Neddo and Wendi Homan) and their families all live in Kuna. My brother (Ken Smith) lives in Lewiston. I am truly blessed with a loving family.

Interests: I love reading, traveling, swimming in my pool, visiting with friends, and watching the Green Bay Packers and Boise State football games. I wear orange tights and blue and orange pompom earrings on BSU game days. It is really fun!!
