About Mrs. W.

Family 07

My first 4 years of teaching were at Lake Hazel Middle School in the Meridian School District. Most of my teaching experience has been in 6th grade.  I taught 6th graders for 13 years and enjoyed working with students at this grade level.  A few years ago I was chosen to be an Albertsons Education Foundation Technology Fellow. I left the classroom for the year and worked with teachers in several different school districts helping them integrate technology and engaged learning strategies in their classrooms.  I taught several classes to teachers and received a great deal of professional development myself. This is my fourth year to teach 7th grade Life Science on the Mighty Ducks team at Kuna Middle School.

I am extremely happy to be working and living in Kuna.  I enjoy learning new things and I continue to take classes to improve my teaching.  I am proud to say that I have completed my Masters Degree in Educational Technology.

My husband is also an educator.  He is currently teaching science at Kuna High School.  We have 2 energetic children (Zoe and Shelby) and a black lab named Ramsey. We enjoy many activities as a family.  We do a lot of camping in our tent trailer and take a trip to the Oregon coast almost every year.  We like to play in lakes and rivers in our canoe and spend as much time outdoors as we can.  We enjoy reading, working with the latest technology tools, and we have a "family game night" at our house.  I am also attempting to learn the game of golf, but I haven't been too successful so far.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all the personalities of my 7th graders this year!
