Kuna School District: Growing Forward Together
Public schools are the heart of Kuna—a community proud of its strong traditions, dedicated educators, and commitment to preparing students for the future. Once a small agricultural town, Kuna is now one of the fastest-growing cities in the Treasure Valley and across Idaho.
Community Support & Investment
In 2024, the Kuna community again demonstrated its strong support for education by approving a two-year, $3.6 million supplemental levy. This investment funds 43 teaching positions, enhances classroom technology, and updates curriculum and instructional resources—helping maintain small class sizes and high-quality teaching amid rapid growth.
We enjoy strong partnerships with community groups and businesses including Meta, which has invested in expanding STEM activities into our schools including Lego Clubs at all our elementaries.
Earlier, in 2017, voters approved a $40 million bond as part of the district’s Growing Forward plan to expand capacity, modernize learning spaces, and strengthen Career Technical Education (CTE) opportunities. A key project was the first phase of Swan Falls High School, which doubled CTE space and created new hands-on, career-connected learning pathways.
Thanks to $24 million in state funding for maintenance needs, the district is updating facilities across all schools following a comprehensive 10-year plan to ensure safe, efficient, and modern learning environments.
Teaching & Learning
Kuna has long been a leader in early learning, partnering with the community to expand high-quality preschool opportunities and offering full-day kindergarten, one of the first districts in the state to do so. Instruction continues to improve through AVID and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs):
- AVID: We explicitly equip students with a toolbox of effective learning strategies they can use now and carry into their future lives.

- PLCs: We explicitly equip our teachers with collaborative tools and strategies to continuously improve instruction, engage in cycles of inquiry and action research, and achieve better outcomes for the students they serve.
