🗓️ Important Dates & School Hours

Q: When is the first day of school?
A: Mark your calendars! The first day of the 2026-27 school year is Thursday, August 13, 2026.
Q: When do school offices reopen?
A: School offices will reopen at the end of July:
  • Middle & High Schools: Open!  
    • Kuna High (operating out of Swan Falls during construction) 1-208-955-0200

  • Elementary Schools: Monday, July 27

Q: When do fall sports start?
A: Fall sports begin Aug. 10.  For more information check:

A: You can find the full 2026-2027 School Year Calendar and school start and end times on our website.

⚠️ Note: Elementary and middle schools have an early release every Wednesday throughout the school year.

🏫 Open Houses & Registration Days

Q: When are the elementary and middle school Open Houses?
A: All elementary and middle school open houses will be Tuesday, Aug. 11:
  • Elementary Schools: 4 to 6 p.m.
  • Middle Schools: 5 to 7 p.m.
Q. What are registration days for Initial Point High School? Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Aug 6 from 4 to 7 p.m.
 
Q. What are the "Back to School Days" for Kuna High School?  
A: Kuna High School registration dates vary by grade level because of construction at KHS, all events will be at Swan Falls High School:
  • New Students: July 29 & 30 | 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  
  • Seniors & Juniors: Aug. 6 | noon – 6 p.m.  
  • Sophomores & Freshmen: Aug. 7 | noon – 6 p.m.  

📝 Enrollment

Q: We are new to the district. How do we enroll?
A: Welcome to our district community! You can easily register your child online through our Enrollment Portal.
Q: My child is a returning student. What do I need to do?
A: Please log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal to find, fill out, and submit the mandatory 2026-2027 Back to School form.

Q: Where can I find school supply lists for the upcoming year?
A: Supply lists vary by school building and grade level:

📚 Middle & High Schools

High Schools:

Students will receive specific supply information from their teachers at the start of the school year. Typically, they will only need some pens, pencils, and paper for the first day of class.

🚌 Transportation & Bus Routes

Q: When will my child’s bus stop be available and where do I the route and schedule?
A: This year we are excited to offer a new tool for parents to track their child’s bus in real time!

We are thrilled to bring BusRight to our families this upcoming school year! BusRight is an easy-to-use school bus tracking app that allows parents to view their child’s bus location in real-time, receive ETA notifications, and get instant updates on delays.  

  • Before School Starts: Parents will receive an invitation email with instructions on how to set up your BusRight account.

  • One Week Before School Starts: Your child's specific bus stops and schedules will become available in two places:

    1. BusRight app:  Download the app GooglePlay ; Apple iOS  OR

    2.  PowerSchool: Log in and click on the Transportation tab to view your child's bus number, stop location, and precise pickup/drop-off times.

🍎 School Meals & Nutrition

Q: How do I apply for free or reduced-price school meals and view menus?
A: Parents can apply for free or reduced-price meals online now! Meal applications, pricing, and monthly menus can be found on our Nutrition Department website.
