Dear Elementary Families,
Earlier this year, we shared that some elementary school boundaries would change in the 2025–26 school year.
As you may know, the bond to build a new elementary school did not pass, so we need to adjust current boundaries to help with overcrowding at some schools.
Today, we’re sharing proposed changes that the Kuna School Board will consider at its May 13, 2025 meeting.
The map shows two areas of proposed changes where students from Silver Trail and Reed elementary schools would move to:
-
Hubbard Elementary for grades K–3
-
Ross Elementary for grades 4–5
Hubbard Elementary also will have new classrooms to support students needing special education services in the Extended Resource Room in 2025-26. This means some students in this program at our schools would transfer to Hubbard. A separate notification is being sent to those families.
We understand that changes like this can bring questions and emotions. Please know that all of our schools have dedicated staff and strong programs. Whether your child stays at their current school or moves to a new one, they will be welcomed into a caring and supportive learning environment.
To help families through this transition and answer questions, we are planning a Welcome Night on Monday, May 5 for those whose school would be changing next year. More details will be sent to those families later this week.
Thank you for your support as we work together to serve all students.
Sincerely,
Kim Bekkedahl
Superintendent
Kuna School District
