Ross Highlights

Thank you for the spoon donations!

We really appreciate the spoon donations--thank you for all those who have sent them in. Classes who've earned the Golden Spoon Award this week will be choosing from all the new spoons. They are very excited!

Staff Highlights

Many of our staff members have been awarded grants this last month. Congrats to them!

  • Mrs. Angle and Ms. Sweet got an Kuna Education Foundation Grant for MissionIO, a science program that builds collaboration in class for students. Students love it!
  • Mrs. Wardell and Mrs. Godfrey got a Meta grant to make their room (the Special Projects and WIN room) into a MakerSpace. It's going to be such a beautiful creative space for students.
  • Mrs. Sanders got both an IETA grant and a TLC grant to buy updated sound systems for students to enjoy in Choir, during Music programs, assemblies, and class.
  • Mrs. Tripp got a Rise to Read grant from Cap Ed and a Winco grant to support the school programs in general.

Attendance Matters

Cell phones and smart watches

ross is a learning zone

Ross is a Learning Zone!

Ross is a learning zone. We want to have uninterrupted instruction time and we want kids to be able to play with each other.

For that reason, we have any students with cell phones leave them in their backpacks during the school day (except for medical uses). Smart watches can be used as watches or tools (example: the calculator function), but not as a cell phone (example: texting).

If a student is using their phone or smart watch while on campus, we have them bring it to the office for the rest of the day. If they do it a second time, we have them bring it to the office and keep it there for a parent to pick up.

Please help us protect instruction and social interaction time for our Rossome kids!

Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders

An image with the word 'Important' and drop-off/pick-up reminders.

Drop Off/ Pick Up Reminders

  • Safety of your child(ren) is our priority. Please pick up and drop off your child in the designated areas.
  • Be patient, especially as we start the school year and the pick/up drop off routines are new to many families. We will have staff to support you and others outside.
  • No drop off/pick up in the bus lane.
  • Drop off may begin no earlier than 8:30am.
  • Pick up line will be along School Avenue from the south of the school to the entry into the parking lot. Do not park and leave your car along School Avenue from 3:00-3:45pm when school pick up is done.
  • If you need to park for pick up, please park on School Avenue to the north of the parking lot entrance so you don't block the pick up line.
  • Pull forward as far as you can. At the end of the day, students will be waiting for your car to arrive near the front of the line to load in your car.
  • Use designated cross walks to access the parking lot or playgrounds.
  • Call the office by 2:00pm if there will be a change in the way your child will normally go home so the teacher can be made aware.
