We are the Miners!

Silver Trail Families,

Last week we wrapped up Teacher Appreciation Week and as the end of the school year nears, I want to take a moment to reflect on the people behind the work happening in our school every day.

Our staff are more than educators — we are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, spouses, and friends. We are human. We chose this profession not just to teach reading, math, and science — but because we believe in the power of education to shape lives, build character, and to make a lasting impact.

Educators enter this field with hearts full of passion and a deep commitment to children. We come to school each day to make a difference, to see the spark in a student’s eyes when they finally “get it", to offer encouragement when a child needs it most, and to help every learner grow.

We care deeply, not only about each child but also about you, their families. We know that students thrive when schools and families work in partnership, and we are so grateful for your trust, your support, and your willingness to walk beside us in this journey.

Thank you for showing up for your child and for our school community. It means more than you know. Together, we will continue to nurture not only knowledge, but kindness, confidence, and hope for the future. We are truly in this together.

As the final weeks of school are approaching, we look forward to the many upcoming events. From field trips, to Kindergarten and 5th grade graduations, join us for the many celebrations. Boundary Changes:
Earlier this week, the school board finalized the boundary changes for next year. This means that some of our Miner families will be joining new school communities. While we know change can be hard and many are feeling a sense of loss, please know that every decision is made with thoughtful care and with the best interests of all students in mind — both at our school and across the district. While we will greatly miss every student and family, Hubbard and Ross are wonderful schools with dedicated teachers and staff, and I know they will welcome our students with open arms.

Regarding Recent News Coverage
Some of you have reached out about recent media coverage concerning a letter from a California attorney involving a former family in our district. Due to state and federal laws that protect student privacy, we are unable to share specific information about individual students or the events described.

What I can share is this: our district and school took the concerns seriously. A thorough investigation was conducted in coordination with local law enforcement and the student’s family. The safety and well-being of our students is — and always will be — our highest priority. We remain committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for every student, every day.

We wish you a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to seeing you at the many upcoming events.
